Dragons and Stuff

Dragons and Stuff

Here comes May, the month of the Dragon and the height of Spring. In Classic Form Feng Shui, the dragon resides in the Southeast and is considered lucky for bringing abundance. This does not mean you should stock up on dragon tchotchkes! More is not better in Feng Shui. But if you love dragons because you do and they make you happy, indulge away!

Generally, people who have dragon in their Bazi chart have strong interpersonal skills, may have important in careers and can earn money easily.  On the downside, their tempers can get the best of them and foil the path to success.

We have a few dragons in the house, but this guy is my favorite!

Feng Shui and Ceiling Fans

It’s getting to be that time of year! The heat is on and so are the ceiling fans. I get asked often at this time of year if ceiling fans are ok in terms of Feng Shui-especially over the bed.

Ceiling fans are good and a necessary item in many homes, so they are a good thing to have.

As it relates to Feng Shui, it may not be good Feng Shui in these instances: If fans are running so high that your papers are flying around.

Why? Chi, or life’s breath, does not exist in extreme winds, so it cannot move through a space effectively if it’s been completely dispersed. Same thing applies to the inside of your home; too much wind is not good.

Over your bed:

The fan blades can be “cutting chi” if the blades face you. If you have a fan and sleep well and everything else in your life is good-don’t remote the fan. If you installed a fan recently and are having trouble sleeping, you may want to pay attention to your fan activity and your sleep habits.

Your Office Desk and Its Best Facing Direction

Rounding out the office series, I’m going to give you your best facing direction for your desk.

I’m a western house person and I face Northeast-this is a good direction for longevity. For prosperity, Northwest is best. If you seek stability, your desk should face West. Finally, Southwest is best for health. You really want to avoid facing the other areas if possible.

For Eastern House people, facing East is great for longevity. Face Southeast for stability. Seeking prosperity? North is the best direction to face. Concerned about your health? Face South.

Sloane is facing East-is she an Eastern House Cat or a Western House cat?

Are you East or West?

  5. Add your single-digit to number 5. Bring this number to a single digit, too, if needed.
  6. I get number 8
  7. This is your Kua Number!

Lights, Doors and Chats

Today and again tomorrow, we are so happy to be spending time at Phillips Lighting and Home hanging new Hinkley displays. They are friends as well as colleagues and it’s so fun to see projects evolving and get to visit.

On a visit with Carrie, we got on the topic of lights and doors and of course, Feng Shui. Your front door is one of the objects in your home that is influential in Feng Shui. The color is not so important to Feng Shui, but what direction the door faces does.

In 2020, My Bazi/Feng Shui teacher and master, Richard Ashworth-a genius and a great teacher, advised us to use the Western Entrance of our house rather than the convenient double doors in the Southeast.

I am a Western House person, as is my husband and daughter. In our current situation and generally, it’s better for us to enter from the West, Southwest or Northwest. For Eastern House people, the East, Southeast, North and South are more preferable. Which are you?

Check in next week to find out and to learn which gua or house you are in!

And finally, Floyd’s current front door-no, not kidding!
