Your Office Desk and Its Best Facing Direction

Rounding out the office series, I’m going to give you your best facing direction for your desk.

I’m a western house person and I face Northeast-this is a good direction for longevity. For prosperity, Northwest is best. If you seek stability, your desk should face West. Finally, Southwest is best for health. You really want to avoid facing the other areas if possible.

For Eastern House people, facing East is great for longevity. Face Southeast for stability. Seeking prosperity? North is the best direction to face. Concerned about your health? Face South.

Sloane is facing East-is she an Eastern House Cat or a Western House cat?

That’s Cat…

As we approach Mercury Retrograde of January 30th, the first one of the year. Delays, communication problems, travel delays… sound familiar?

We took ourselves and the kittens on the road to avoid losing power/falling trees/road blocks/ that was supposed to be the storm of the year.

So what happens when elements mix? Rain and fire debris/ash=earth and water. Earth restrains water, but when they mix you get a sludge that you cannot get through. You get stuck, literally.

How about wood and water? The rain makes the wooden things grow=rain + trees-water nourishes wood. Good,  unless there is too much rain and the soil washes away and the trees fall over.

Cats represent the element fire, all animals represent fire-they are great unless you’re a hoarder, then it’s too much fire and you burn out. As we know, too much fire is a disaster.

So back to cats… we are heading home with them today. We are hoping all is well, Floyd is in good shape, and that our area didn’t slide away.

Elements! The balance matters.

Dog days of Summer, Feng Shui and pets

We are prepping…for a dog! Said dog must be cool with cats, as Licorice is going strong at 18+. It’s time. What do dogs, and pets in general have to do with Feng Shui? Feng Shui is about the home, where it is, the forms and elements surrounding it, timing, and who occupies the home. If your kids are of the furry variety, they also affect the energy of the home. The 4 legged kids are usually Yang Energy. We began discussing Yin and Yang energy a couple of weeks ago, so I want to give you some Yin Yang perspective regarding your pets.

Fish are yin, if you are wondering. Fish=water=yin when it’s still water.

Animals are associated with the South, and Fire element, making them Yang. They add good energy to homes, but it’s all about balance. Too much of a good thing becomes a problem if your pet’s health and your health suffer. No hoarding! How many is too many? If you have 30 acres, you can spread the love, if you have a 400ft studio in New York, think small and one.

Post your pets! We’d love to see them.
