Enhancing Romance for 2020

For those of you who follow our antics with our new (108 year old) house, Floyd, you know that Floyd has lots of charming character. One of his recent gifts are these small ceramic ducks in our bathroom glued to the chair rail. I managed to remove a few, and this pair is a gift for a friend seeking a mate.

Pairs of ducks, cranes and birds in general is a symbol and a cure to achieve a good relationship that will lead to marriage. This pair is a female and a drake-they should be equal-ish in size to assist in equality in a relationship. Photos of pairs of birds work too. These go next to the bed on a side table for this friend based on the Bagua of that home, but a good place to put them is in the Southwest of your home or bedroom.

Isn’t it romantic?

This year, in the year of the boar, it is important to add the element metal to the romance and relationship area (Southwest sector of space) to neutralize the bad energy from this star… so if your love life is fizzling-add metal.

With friends like these…

Pictures of friends and family are great to surround yourself with and to aid you in your helpful people area (the Northwest quadrant). Not so great in the bedroom; even if your bedroom is in the Northwest quadrant. The bedroom should be free of images of other people. Not only does it dampen romance, but having active people in your bedroom also hampers sleep. Get these folks out and to a more active area of the home, like the East or the Northwest.

Summer is Coming Fast!

For those hot summer nights, if you desire a romantic relationship or want to stoke the romantic fire in an existing relationship, purple is a great choice for bedding. Purple, although not a primary romance sector color in Feng Shui (those are red, pink and white) is scientifically observed to be associated with more romantic encounters!

Keep Buddha Statues Out of Your Bedroom

I am a huge fan of Buddha and Quan Yin statues; in fact, I am a bit of a collector. These are great for adding elements to to a space, and for adding strong cures to specific areas. More on that later. Where they are NOT good is in your bedroom.
Though they often look peaceful, this type of statue disturbs the peaceful energy of your bedroom and interferes with ROMANCE and, by the way, sleep because of their strong representation of deity.
It’s best to keep Buddha, or any statue of any deity out of your bedroom if you want to enhance romance.

Keep Work Out of the Bedroom

Having a desk with your bills, computer and work is one of the fastest ways to kill romance. The fastest, by the way, is to have a big tv in your bedroom.

Consider removing the desk if you can relocate it, or, at the very least, get a desk that can close up, like a roll top desk or armoire and a partition so you are not facing it while sleeping.

Seeing Red…

Red, long the color of romance, is appropriate in reasonable doses in your bedroom according to Feng Shui. If a little is good, a lot is better does not apply here. Feng Shui is about Balance.

A pair of red candles is good, but you must light them and they should burn fairly equally.

Red artwork, preferably with a pair of something depicted in it is good as well.

A pair of red pillows, great!

No red beds-that’s too much.

Too much red and somebody will get burned.

Looking for love in all the wrong places?

Looking for love in all the wrong places? You may be in need of a chi adjustment. Take a look at your bedroom and make sure that you have room on both sides of your bed to get out of the bed. It is best if you have matching nightstands and lamps or lighting. Pairs, pairs, pairs – your decor should focus on pairs of things, equal in size and look. Stay tuned; more on romance in our next FSF!
